SchoolSpan includes a growing suite of modules designed to improve communication and foster collaboration among your students and staff. Although most firms continue to try and up-sell you on other modules, your SchoolSpan purchase includes access to all of our modules. Whether you choose to implement one, two or all of our applications, you'll pay just one simple price.
SchoolSpan offers its suite of solutions to districts in one of two ways:
- ASP Subscription - All of the new modules for your web site are hosted by SchoolSpan in our state-of-the-art secure datacenter. The modules interact with the web pages of your existing web site, which remain hosted on your local servers or through the ISP you currently use. This solution is ideal for districts who wish to conserve their IT resources - there's no hardware or software to buy, low costs, partially E-Rate eligible, fast implementation & complete operational flexibility.
- Locally Hosted Option - Our suite of applications are available for purchase and installation on your district's local servers. An ideal choice for larger districts (20,000 students or more) with sufficient IT staffing and resources, it provides a less expensive option in the long run. A modest annual maintenance charge continues to provide you with technical support and product updates. So even if we create a new module, your maintenance charge will entitle you to the application at no extra charge.
Whether you explore our ASP or locally hosted option, you'll find that SchoolSpan is 50-80% less than most content management alternatives currently marketed to K-12 schools. For many districts, SchoolSpan costs less than the stipend it pays to have technical people update the web site. Plus, our ongoing training, support and product development continues to provide you with an ongoing source of resources and functionality schools continue to seek as technology evolves.
